The blasts on thirteenth of September in Delhi at Connaught Place, Karol Bagh, Greater Kailash and near Barakhamba Metro Station claimed more than 23 lives while some 110 were injured. This was the fourth major attack in past six months after Jaipur, Bangalore and Ahmedabad. A juvenile group called Indian Mujahiddin took the responsibility of these blasts. Till now the police had suspected Lashkar-E-Taiyeba and HuJi and said that perhaps Indian Mujahiddin is the changed name of one of these terrorist groups. Unfortunately the laziness of police claimed several innocent lives yesterday in the peak hour of shopping and fun when most of the people flock out of their homes. Police, slow as usual failed to track the source of fault while it is clear that this institution has been threatening us to target the big cities in which the Delhi comes first. After juddering three prime cities of the nation once again they succeeded in proving that police is police, we come after them in ignorance. While the shoulder of police should be patted, we should be given ignorance award.
How is it that despite our eyes open we fail to read the signs of uncommon behaviour, despite being warnings issued by government we shrug off them as mere instructions as if we have nothing to do with them. It is us, who load the ‘best’ police of India with the expectations and turn back again to shopping. Our shallow observations and so-called careful behaviour send strong signals to them, which makes us an easy prey. We have lost at least 70,000 lives in terrorist attacks till now but our loose reactions every time to these makes them interpret that we are weak. After 11 September 2001 incident Americans became excessively cautious of their security infrastructure. From training their cops to installing CCTV cameras and tightening their security they did everything, which could detect any susceptible element which could possess any threat to them. Preventing any terrorism in their reign made them concerned about the national security. Moreover terrorism became their main concern after that jolt which we still have not be able to highlight even after suffering so many attacks and sacrificing so many civilians. The third grade police who wield lathi religiously are going to contribute nothing to our pathetic security system. Swaying lathi like a madman would not do any aid. Also our eyes remain glued to flat-50% sales when we stroll in markets never paying attention to the isolated objects and susceptible people roaming around. (Now it’s time to read Allan Pease’s Body Language so that we could identify the basics of human behaviour). There are no strong laws against preventing terrorism and no new technology.
Every time terrorists mock us by fulfilling their promise to target new cities And look at us! After every attack and a new cat and dog chase we give up and go to our beds rather than sharpening our vigil and our security. Why not to learn a crucial lesson from US at least in this topic? The response in bits will make their intentions fly (and later make us cry). This is a very crucial time when we must realize their harmful intentions. The harmony of our people is on stake. Tourism will suffer as a result of all this and development will hinder if we still did not pay attention to this. Thorough investigation and eagle eyes would heal this wound, which refreshes every time terrorism spreads its feet.It is a dangerous demon which should be killed before it spreads its claws and gulp us.

The Irony Of Being Women
Indira Nooyi,Sonia Gandhi & Mayawati have made it to top fifty of World's Powerful women list. These three women reveal the increasing power of women.Indian women has energed as a fearless creature, who is independent, working, responsible & daring.
A few decades ago, these things were not so talked about.Today's women is bold & more confident. But there is a grave need to look through a microscope and examine."My husband beats me,he has the right";these words at first may seem to be the dialogue of a movie of 1970's.Actually these words of a headline published in Hindustan Times are barely two days old.The survey by HT(Hindustan Times) reveal shocking results.47% women justify being beaten as they are afraid of being destitute. They have no money,no job & no confidence either. They are victims of domestic violence.Even their families do not pay attention to their basic requirements( even the basic ones). They cannot protest and cannot take divorce for the sake of their children.
From a long time women are considered to be a burden on the families.Situation has not changed much from then.Girl child is still considered to be a burden. In Delhi, the capital of India, the male-female ratio is around 860 girls per thousand boys shockingly.Girls are still deprived of making their own choices.A news from Pakistan Pakistan deciphers that five girls were buried alive only because they wanted to marry the boys of their choice. Not only in our country,it is the story of many other countries too.The rosy statistics which tell us that the stories about women empowerment, in fact are mirage. When we see with our view magnified we can see nothing else but gender bias.
The bill for preventing sexual harassment in workplaces is roaming here and there from past two years(even a snail moves faster). In August issue of Reader's Digest , a story is published about sexual harassment of a Lady Army Officer by her senior. When protested she was thrown out of her job and the Officer against whom the charge was registered ,was promoted to higher rank. This is the condition of women, not only in India but everywhere .We can see even with naked eyes the oppession of women .In working places they are paid less, made to work for long hours and when they leave, no security is provided to them.
The movie 'Provoked' mirrors the behaviour of male society towards women. In serials they are showed as negative characters and are blamed for breaking homes. In this patriarchal society they are devoid of property.Female foeticide has not stopped yet. After marriage they are pressurised to leave their jobs to 'grow' sons. They are forced to drop -out of the schools for the sake of domestic duties.60% of women are still illiterate in our country.
After all this who would say That India progressing? We are still unable to get rid of our age old customs who take pleasure in suppressing women's desires. We have to make efforts for the progress of females. There is still a long way to go and we are still standing on the threshold.Until this society realises the potential of women power, we would not be able to make actual progress and this is the biggest truth with prevails in this universe.

Communalism on rise in Orissa
Communalism on rise in Orissa From some time there was communal fire brewing up in Orissa. But Swami Laxmananda Saraswati's assassination led to its eruption violently. It was confined to Kandhamal District only;later it spread to all the Districts of Orissa. V.H.P supporters in doubt that Christian community was behind his murder, started burning the Churches & damaging their property. India is well known as a Secular State where all communities live peacefully & share well-knitted connections. The act of V.H.P has brought shame to our country. In the name of Hindu welfare they have targeted other religionswhich has given us nothing but conflict, tension & curfews. One may wonder if they are human at all.Preaching the name of your god, practising your religion is fine;but underminingother communities's & their rights is certainly a no-no.Merely because of a suspicion, harming others is senseless.Empty head is always Devil's home. This is not hidden that V.H.P is always in hunt for new topics to start a new catfight.Orissa riots are fresh examples of this.Their narrow-mindedness has been deciphered.A woman was burnt alive when an Orphange was set up on fire. What kind of protest is this? These people desreve to be beaten black & blue .Majority of people would agree on this point.Only because of these people India is having a bad name.'Tit For Tat' must b e made mandatory for such people & as a result they would think umpteen times before trobling others. If something is done then a proper case should be registered & enquiry should be done. And why Government is not doing anything about this. When it comes for praising about their so-called achievements, they boast, boast & go on boasting. Peace doesnot come naturally.Efforts have to be made for it.It is sad that because of some unwanted 'elements' we are losing it.We must also not lose our senses.By keeping our eyes & ears we will know that all this is done for the sake of dirty politics. Let's not get swayed by these issues.Peace brings unity;unity is the power of a Nation. There is still a long way to go.

Olympics:India's Potential

Hi ! Olympics have finally ended it's 'relay'.How fascinated India would be when her 'Lord Of The Ring' Vijendra & her 'Ace Of Shooters' Abhinav Bindra would touch her soul. For the first time India has made it to more than two medals( The one which Rajyawardhan Singh Rathore won in Olympics 2004 was also significant).
Of course! Everyone is happy. This is the Historical Event for India.Everyone is celebrating, everyone is glad, everyone is proud of Bindra,Vijendra & Sushil Kumar, the jewels on her bosom. The confidence these people have arousen in India's potential of winning the medals in future is inexplicable.Surely , India's potential is infinite; but without being channelised in right direction it would go waste.
Why is it that despite being so talented our sportsmen are often knocked out of such big events? why we moan over the losses when we aren't willing to contribute? The ignorance of our Officials is evident by their absence from Vijendra's medal distributing ceremony. Such a proud moment which embossed his heart when Indian flag was soaring up failed to budge the Officials an inch who always jabber about their contribution to Indian Sports.
It is our ignorance which denies us winning the medals. Lack of funds, coaches, proper training, corruption & pessimistic approach of Government aren't going to help us.Perhaps many our atheletes also don't put their efforts either. Phelps; why not to take inspiration from him & his authorities. He swims seven days a week, eight hours & 33 miles per day. He puts his hundred percent which gives him output of hundred percent.
These three medals finally have rectified our hopes and added flavour of optimism to it.With the showering attention, praises ,funds & popularity on them we can now expect Government to wake up & do something to promote budding talent in our country. There is no lack of talent bearers in India, no lack of potential. In each city, village & lane there are 'shooting stars' waiting for the medal hunt to begin. We need to magnify our view. ( I feel sad for Budhia whose Coach's untimely assasination shattered his hopes for a bright future in atheletics). We are waiting for slow progress of Indian Sports. Slowly & steadily but for sure India's medal tally would increase. Our future is bright. Olympics 2008 is just a beginning. Right input would give us BEST output.Let's expect for a bright future in atheletics.

Poetic mood of "me"
hi people after spending so many days at my home I'm in mood of some creativity. So accept this piece of poetry from me;perhaps this is the best piece I've ever written. How i enjoyed at home I'll tell you later. In the bin of dust,
Smoked with rust,
I was left alone,
A hush & sob in a tattered robe,
& touch of mum was gone,
Darkening night the one,
Frightening sight the one,
The brittle of hell,
In I fell the one,
Howling the wind was;
Rattling the sky,
Oh ma left me you,
Why? Why? Why?
In the darkness sheer,
I was left alone,
A hush & sob,
In a tattered robe,
& touch of mum was gone,
With rotten water all around,
Heart my deadly shattered,
I was afraid some,
I was afraid some,
Hoping to someone me found,
Asking my pals,
The streets & the walls,
The holes & the roads,
The city & the toads,
The ants & the flies,
The voice of the wise,
The red brown bricks,
To the pillow & the ticks,
Have you seen my mum?
At least once hum?
Tell me oh!
I need her!
I need her!
In the warmth of tears,
I was left alone,
A hush & sob,
In a tattered robe,
& touch of mum was gone,
God oh tell me,
What was m y fault?
Why I am without her?
Why I suffered that jolt!

POLITICS
The very word POLITICS when people hear, they begin to crib & sulk. The opinion about politics is scathingly, almost uniformly distributed among the masses. The image of a politician, no doubt is similar to the public opinion; in other words it has become stereotyped. It has become sewage, a drainage which only spreads diseases. It do good very little to common people who vote in hope for such a leader on which nation could swell its chest with pride. In the nerves of politics black money flow like blood which the NETAS had promised to use for the public welfare but it’s finally used for putting up ACs in their BUNGALOWS.
Every year people decide their leader but end up gleaning the shattered hopes. The movie Nayak deciphered the face of dirty politics which is played in this country. We are badly in need of such leaders who actually work for people. The politicians have themselves brought KALYUGA... They are responsible for country’s demeanor.
No party has until now succeeded in fulfilling their promises made to public prior to elections. Everyone knows that the coming elections are responsible for political upheaval caused in the sea of Indian politics; so the leaders like Prakash Karat, Mayavati are talking nonsense to bag the interest of public & to lure them to strengthen their leadership. Mayawati is looking forward to become the PM of the country. On the contrary, a leader means who leads but they are misleading us. God knows what would be the future of such a country where politicians are millionaire but public is naked. The corruption dangling in the Congress as well as other parties is to be blamed for present condition of the country where rich are becoming richer, poor poorer & all benefit is enjoyed by politicians. Politicians in fact have no brains. KHALI DIMAG SHAITAN KA GHAR is the best quote to describe them.
The question arises ‘Is there no one who has potential to lead this country sensibly?’ The way the note bundles were swayed in the Parliament answers NO. But when the wrath of the people will reach its heights then they would have to pay the penalty for causing damage to public interests for their own interests. The youth is willing to uproot these weeds. They want to go & beat these people until they turn black & blue. It is ‘a must’ find measure otherwise we once again would become their victims as we were 10 years ago.
People! We need to wake up & thrash these politicians & do some good to our Nation ; after all we are her children.

Hi again people. Today I'm a bit exhausted after 2 hours of class of just one subject.I was sketching out on how to get rid of this class early;it would have been more better if we had half an hour break in between.I was totally glucoserupt(like bankrupt).A whole bottle of liquid glucose which I carried also failed to pull me out of my dullwitts.
It's a great problem hostlers often miss their lunch as they have their classes at the same time & we have to make a choice whether to shut up the rats of our stomach or to go & stare the teacher without understanding a single word of her haranguing.Sighh! It's our daily problem.
But living in the hostel has it's advantage. We get freshers day to celebrate,we get music, fabulous dinner, gorgeous dresses to see;we get to watch fantastic dance performances, fashion show which funnily is called JUNKYARD;we get rock music to show our talented feet on dance floor & much more;there is hostel night & several other events which day scholars die for!!
You know we are really very lucky to live in the hostel.Normally we have 2 to 3 hours gap between 2 classes,as hostel is just attatched to college we can go back to our room & do whatever we like. We can eat, visit the market, listen to music, plunge into the books or just laze around which we are obviouly good at! And if it's raining ( Delhi's weather has suddenly become so good this year) we

About A Teenager Delhiite
Heyy people ! this is Vatsla,a student of Delhi University,B.A English (H) I Year. I'm a healthy, funloving, somewhat geeky, specsy, love to dig myself in books girl.
I have a passion for literature & has written several poems many of which i dumped becauseI didn't like them. They had immature content.( I wrote my first poem when I was in fourth standard). Although as I started growing I started more & more disliking it. But it has it's significance.Won't you remember that moment when you first started painting or scored good marks in your first test. I remember; each & every competition I won. Although I adore that moment when my essay 'love & compassion can bring change' was compiled in a book with 99 other essays from students of whole nation & I got an Honourable opportunity to meet Dr.A.P.J Abdul Kalam , our former President.
I basically write articles & poems. I'm no good at stories. I firstly succeeded writing a humorous play in my 9th standard THE HEAVEN STORY & it was really funny.I'm proud of it, you know!
English was the only subject which I had a grip on. I'm from science stream but my fondness for literature showed me the way to this subject.
Nature inspires me. I love the fragrance of fresh Jasmine flowers;I love staring at the night sky; I adore the twinkling of stars, greenery fascinates me & many more things.
I love the way i'm you know! My favourite colour is every shade of purple but I don't like to wear purple clothes.I'm a BRAINIAC BY HEART.
I like being connected to world through newspapers, magazines, books.I never miss my newspaper unless my College time table is full.
Well for today my introduction is enough. I would like to end it by a poem.
hope you'll like it!
myheart that beats,
in rosy breeze,
hums thousand words for you,
it feels like fallen me in a cosy sea of dew,
the golden sun,
the starry sun whisper with red shy gee,
that I'm yours & for forever you are made for me.
